My Drawings
I have been drawing cartoons, likenesses and everything I could imagine since I can remember. My main medium being pen & ink and watercolor. My illustration work presents an unconventional take on dry subject matter usually with a strong dose of humor - which is why I seem to get the more mundane assignments - I can find the humor in anything.
My Inspiration
My first and main inspiration comes from my cousin, the late, great Lee Ames. Lee worked for Disney in the 1930's and authored the hugely popular "Draw 50" series of books in the 60's and 70's - he continued to work in his 80's, excelling in his use of digital illustration (amazing). Also MAD magazine and their great stable of lunatics (Mort Drucker, Paul Coker Jr, Don Martin . . ) and the underground genius of Robert Crumb, Rick Griffin, Stanley Mouse, Ed Roth, Victor Moscoso - the list goes on. Today I am fascinated by the work of Mark Ryden, Todd Schorr, Robert Wilson, Gary Taxali and many others.
